I am a mother, sister, friend, daughter, cousin, and colleague. But above all, I am a lover of learning, not just in the traditional sense of Math, English, Science, or Social Studies, but in the art of people, places, skills, and experiences. Life itself is the greatest classroom, and I am both the student and the storyteller.
I seek beauty in the ordinary and the extraordinary. A good hike that leads to the sound of rushing water? That’s my idea of peace. The warmth of the sun on my skin? I call it the Lord’s kiss. I listen for the Holy Spirit in the wind and find God’s presence in the wonders of creation. Life is full of reminders that He is here, and I make it my mission to notice them.
I am a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a lover of music that speaks where words sometimes fail, and a believer that, as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes, true meaning comes only from God. Joy and happiness are choices, ones we must not only make but fight for, protect, and cherish.
